Social Responsibility

As a business, we recognise the importance of supporting the community, this includes the internal community as well as the community around them. But to become a truly socially responsible business, we believe that we have to understand our impact on the community at all levels.
From the way we support our staff to how we care for the people living in our community, to our understanding and actions to minimise our impact on the environment to our work with local charities. We work to ensure that the impact we have on every individual is a positive one, supporting local charities with both fundraising and expertise to reducing our carbon footprint. Every aspect of our work is focused on those people around us.

Our Charities
As part of our commitment to the local community we work to support local charities and this year we have adopted Rennie Grove Peace Hospice as our Charity of the Year. The Hospice provides patient-centred palliative care and bereavement support within Buckinghamshire and Hertfordshire.
During the year we will be working to;
- Help raise the profile of the charity by using our marketings and network and in so doing help them meet their fundraising and support targets
- Where possible raise funds and support individuals raising funds for them
- Use our expertise and knowledge where applicable to help the centre and their retail network

As a manufacturing business we have always been aware of the impact we have on the environment. Our whole approach has always been to design and produce products that minimise their impact on the environment in three ways;
Road to Net Zero
1.
All products are manufactured using 100% recyclable materials.
2.
All products are “fit and forget” meaning they require no maintenance, further reducing the life-cycle carbon emissions.
3.
All products are fully deconstructable and designed to be re-used or recycled leading to zero landfill.
How we’re working to reach net-zero by 2030
We also recognise that in order to produce each unit, we have a requirement to source materials, undertake the manufacturing process and transport the products to site. Each stage requires energy and therefore has a carbon cost. Our aim is to minimise the carbon used in each of these stages by;
- Only using renewable energy, including fitting solar panels at our main site
- Working with suppliers to ensure they are also working to reduce their carbon emissions
- Working to convert our fleet of vehicles to either electric or hydrogen and minimising the number of journeys through our logistics planning
- Continuously looking at every stage of our process and our internal energy usage to reduce our carbon emissions.
- Engaging with every member of our team, our suppliers and our clients to work towards our net-zero target.
As a business our objective is to reach net-zero by 2030. To achieve this, we recognise that we will need to include carbon offsetting and carbon capture for some of the reduction, but we will continue to work to reduce the percentage of our emissions that this accounts for.
